The U.S. Constitution

The U.S. Constitution spells out the rules that govern the administration of the United States of America. It has provided stability and safety to the American People for over 200 years. It is a fascinating document that should be studied and treasured by all Americans.

The constitution begins with a preamble that reveals the purpose of the document.

The Constitution is broken down into several articles:
Article I deals with the legislative branch.
Article II
discusses the executive.
Article III
has to do with the Supreme Court.
Article IV regards the states.
Article V deals with the amendment process
Article VI places the legal status of the constitution.
Article VII spells out the method of ratification.

The Signers of the constitution battled long and hard to hammer out a document that would stand the test of time.

There have been relatively few Amendments to the Constitution over the years. Yet often the changes they brought changed the scope of government, often expanding the franchise.
