As well as its emphasis on national and international politics, Newsweek Magazine delivers cultural commentary on movies, books and art. From insightful reviews to behind the scenes revelations, Newsweek will help you stay informed.
Each issue is loaded with departments to keep you up to date, and in step with society. "Periscope" claims to be a "heads-up look at scoops, trends, ideas and people to watch." "1000 Words" is a single full spread photo that is as revealing as any story, and helps to make Newsweek's photo journalism the equal of any magazine in the industry.
Newsweek also covers business and the economy, travel, trends, science and philosophy.
A precautionary note to subscribers, even a cursory reading reveals that the Newsweek staff has a definite left-wing bias. Articles and stories are often slanted to support a socialist agenda, and the commentary, unless offered by a guest columnist such as George Will, is nearly always tainted. Especially biased is the department called, "Conventional Wisdom" where the editors approve or disapprove of specific people or organizations that made news during the week. All of this would be acceptable if they did not cloak it as unbiased reporting.
