Napoleon on the Art of War, edited by Jay Luvaas. Based on letters, memoirs, and reminiscences this work ties together Napoleon's theories on war. Napoleon was the master of the epigram and could be brief and concise in his analysis. Thus his words tend to be clear and brief. Although Napoleon did not always take his own advice, he does lay out for us important theories governing war, including local superiority and the use of the flanking maneuver. This is an interesting read for any student of military history.
My Napoleon is a wonderfully illustrated children's book about Napoleon while on the island of St. Helena. Based on the diary entries of a young girl who knew Napoleon.
