Cream Cheese, Chive, and Bacon Dip

Some recipes have exotic titles. Others, like this one, basically tell you the ingredients. You will find that chives, with their light oniony flavor and delicate crunch are an excellent addition to almost any savory dip. This dip goes great with crackers or vegetables or even ruffled chips. (It's a bit too stiff for regular potato chips). Try spreading it on a cracker with a slice of green olive and pimento on top!


2 eight ounce packages of cream cheese
1 ounce from 3 oz jar of real bacon bits
1/4 cup chopped chives
1 tablespoon olive oil
dash pepper to taste


Soften cream cheese in a medium size bowl. Add remaining ingredients, except chives and mix well by working ingredients in with the back of a large spoon. Add in chives and mix again. Cover bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.
